Our Academy’s research competition announced on November 4, 2024, for young researchers, was evaluated by an independent scientific committee with a deadline of January 15, 2025. The first place was awarded to Zhaketay Zairagul, a PhD student at the Department of Biophysics and Radiation Biology, Semmelweis University.
Title of the Proposal: Investigating the Synergistic Effect of Modulated Electro-Hyperthermia (mEHT) in Combination with Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) T Cell Therapy on Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) in Vivo
The second prize was awarded to Sándor Czibor, Deputy Medical Director at Pozitron Medical Diagnostics Ltd.
Title of the Proposal: Baseline volumetric PET biomarkers in the prediction of interim treatment response of patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma
The third prize went to Nguyen Minh Ngoc, a PhD student at the Department of Anatomy, Histology, and Embryology, University of Debrecen.
Title of the Proposal: Investigation of the surfaceome in human epidermal melanocytes and melanoma cells
The Academy’s special award was granted to Márton Barabás, a PhD student at the University of Debrecen Clinical Centre, Department of Oncoradiology.
Title of the Proposal: Correlation between adverse events microbiome changes and inflammation during chemoradiation therapy of rectal cancer

The awardees will present their work on January 30, 2025, offering the professional community insights into their outstanding research achievements. At 2:00 PM, Dr. Attila Marcell Szász, Vice President, will lead an online session where the awardees will provide detailed reports about their work.
